Faborita (Lucero VIII x Debla V) is a striking 16.1 H black/bay (EEAa - bay, carries black ) mare bred by Los Madroños. that was imported from Spain to TX in February 2006. Her sire Lucero VIII has been Champion of Spain and is also listed in the LIMPRE Book of Merits - the Who's Who book of famous horses. MORE PHOTOS
She has been bred to Torero XI who is many times Champion of Functionality, Campeón de la Raza, and is also a "Qualified" (has passed the second revision test) stallion - CALIFICADO. In 2005 Torero was ranked 3rd in Spain for Doma Clasica by ANCCE. Click Torero's link above to see more pictures and Torero's show record. It is pretty amazing. Torero is owned by Yeguada Cubas, Spain.
We actually bought Faborita a year before we imported her. We delayed import so she could carry her pregnancy (with Cisco) to term and then breed her back to the stallion of our choice. It would have been much easier to use a stallion that was on the farm that we bought her from or to use a local stallion. We think it will be well worth the time and expense to have one of Torero's foals. The movement should be exceptional and we are eagerly awaiting the due date in August 2006.
